Job Overview
This role offers a unique opportunity to work as a lead installer, overseeing the installation of heating and air conditioning systems. As a Pre-Lead Install Technician, you will be responsible for supervising a team of installers, maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate company vehicles daily
• Follow instructions from supervisors and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Supervise and be responsible for other installers
• Report any issues with company tools or vehicles promptly
• Maintain excellent relationships with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors
• Work flexible schedules if required
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with builders
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
• Complete jobs without supervision
• Finish projects within labor budgets
• Complete all necessary paperwork, job packets, change orders, and time cards
• Train Apprentice-level Installers
• Participate in 12 hours of job-related training annually
• Prepare for NATE core tests
• Manage small projects from start to finish
Requirements
• Valid EPA Certification Universal
• Proficient in installing round and rectangular ducts
• Able to measure ductwork and install equipment accessories
• Basic understanding of complex sheet metal fittings
• Ability to manage projects when the lead is absent
• Ability to properly layout venting systems
• Knowledge to solve basic installation problems
• Can complete simple low-voltage connections on furnaces, air handlers, and air conditioners
• Excellent communication skills with supervisors, builders, and other trades
• Maintain good relationships with builders and subcontractors
• Ability to complete all necessary paperwork
• Able to follow through on change orders
• Braze line sets
• Test line sets
• Able to supervise others
• Comfortable working in tight spaces
• Ability to lift 100 pounds
• Exposure to outdoor environments and extreme temperatures at times
• Comfortable working at heights
• Need to manipulate objects with fingers
• Occasional exposure to high levels of dust
The estimated salary for this role is $28-$45 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance (100% paid by the employer), 401K with up to 4% employer match, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
