Job Title
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician - Commercial Facilities.
Summary
An experienced HVAC technician is needed to maintain and repair community facility HVAC systems, including computerized environmental control systems. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of standard practices, methods, processes, tools, machines, and materials of the mechanical trade. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Services and repairs community facility HVAC systems, including computerized environmental control systems, repairs, pulls and replaces pumps and compressors when needed.
• Services and repairs commercial appliances, ice machines, refrigerated drinking fountains, and other related equipment in clubhouse facilities.
• Maintains community swimming pools and spas, including vacuuming, backwashing, and water treatment. Services and repairs swimming pool pumps, heaters, and checks and services boiler room equipment.
• Checks, services, and adjusts clubhouse and community facility heating and air conditioning systems, equipment contains refrigerants that need to be reclaimed using refrigerant recovery machine.
• Drives a truck and maintains a truck inventory of materials and supplies.
Requirements
• Graduation from high school and considerable general mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience that produces the following:
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
• Knowledge of the standard practices, methods, processes, tools, machines, and materials of the mechanical trade.
• Ability to read and write work-related job instructions in English.
• Ability to maintain routine records and reports.
• Ability to work from sketches/drawings, to understand and carry out oral/written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others in English.
• Ability to troubleshoot swimming pool equipment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and residents.
• Skill in the use and care of tools, materials, and equipment used in the mechanical trade.
Special Requirements
• Possession of a valid California driver's license.
• Possession of A/C and Heating Certificate from an accredited school.
• Possession of EPA approved Certificate to reclaim HCFCs.
• Ability to pass respiratory pulmonary function test.
• Ability to pass qualitative and/or quantitative respirator fit test.
