As an HVAC installation and service technician, you have the freedom to travel from job to job. At our company, our technicians are tasked with working on geothermal heat pumps, ventilation, electric and gas forced air, hydronic heating systems, air source heat pumps and air conditioning. As an HVAC technician, you are to help our customers find a comfortable indoor environment, no matter what the weather is like outside. HVAC technicians must be ready to repair, install or maintain all heating and cooling systems in a home or office building.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Up to date driver’s license, insurable for operation of company vehicle.
• Ability to pass background check.
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot various systems design and operations.
• Owning personal tools needed for HVAC installation and service.
• Knowledge of standard practices of the HVAC, geothermal and hydronics trades.
• Utilizing materials, methods, and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Knowing applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations of state and local authorities pertaining to HVAC, geothermal and boilers.
• Routinely lifting objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Performing duties as assigned.
• Maintaining regular attendance.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Apprenticeship under a journeyperson for three to five years.
• On the job training or experience.
• Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants.
• Willingness to accept training to become NATE Certified. (Cost of training to be paid by company).
• Willingness to take the test for Journeyman and Supervisor Certificates in governing jurisdictions when qualified.
• Willingness to learn selling methods and techniques to better assist clients in making informed decisions.
JOB DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Installing, starting, and commissioning gas and electric heating systems, air conditioning and ventilation systems.
• Understanding, installing, repairing, and maintaining indoor air quality systems and equipment.
• Installing equipment, sheet metal, piping, control wiring and other components of HVAC.
• Conducting performance tests with specialized tools and adjusting systems to optimize performance.
• Categorizing and organizing inventory.
• Tracking materials and hours for installations, service, and maintenance.
• Filling out paperwork when needed for proper handoff to client and/or operations.
• Utilizing Service Titan operating platform for tracking hours, materials, pricing and creating invoices.
• Position includes hourly wage DOE with other incentives, for an annual earning potential of $100K+/year, vehicle allowance, and company benefits including but not limited to health insurance, dental, vision, PTO, profit sharing plan.
