MSD is looking for an HVACR Service Instructor/Technical Advisor to join our team!
The HVACR Instructor/Technical Advisor provides technical assistance to field technicians and clients, manages and teaches in-house training classes, prepares career development plans. This role monitors the quality of craftmanship and designs training to improve the level of performance for all HVACR and plumbing technicians. The HVACR Technical Advisor coordinates manpower requirements for training and continued educational requirements. The HVACR Technical Advisor supports the total quality effort by identifying and responding to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.
Key Job Duties:
• Managing and overseeing the day-to-day technical needs of all service technicians. Provide assistance to the technicians and coach them to provide solutions for any given technical need.
• Conduct in-house training classes to follow NCCER guidelines for HVACR Trainees
• Conduct in-house training classes for continuing education for HVACR Technicians.
• Creating, defining, and evaluating professional development plans to grow MSD and employee knowledge to allow us to exceed customer expectations and gain employee satisfaction and retention.
• Recommends technical abilities and participates in the interview process and selection on HVACR service employees.
• Work with the service manager to complete performance evaluations and creates development goals and objectives for each employee.
• Tracks the ongoing readiness of technicians and recommends and oversees training programs for staff development.
• Oversees training schedules through dispatch to ensure technicians educational assignments match the knowledge, skills and abilities required for successfully performing the job’s scope of work.
• Prepares and conducts training classes for HVACR trainees to follow the NCCER program.
• Prepares and conducts soft skills training classes for HVACR o build technician confidence and ability to deliver information to internal and external clients.
• Reviews, monitors, and implements quality control procedures for field technicians by conducting site visits with the technicians.
• Resolve technical issues brought forth by field employees. This may require in person, onsite training with technicians.
• Track frequent issues brought forth by the field employees. Develop training to minimize nonproductive hours.
• Develop and manage career development programs for each field technician. Track progress of each plan and coordinate training internally and externally.
• Work with the Service Manager to provide insight for technician reviews.
• Participate in new hire onboarding and training of MSD’s policies and procedures.
• Represents the company at HVAC activities and functions. Attends networking events and serves as an advisory member for school board meetings.
• Works with the Service Director to identify resource requirements and develop department budgets for training needs

Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years combined HVAC experience (i.e. Apprenticeship and Field)
• 4+ years’ experience in a leadership role
• High school Diploma/GED/or 15 Semester (22 quarter) hours college level education
• Knowledge of all aspects of HVAC
• Ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal English
• Ability to comprehend and implement complex technical instructions, including applicable laws, codes, and regulations (federal, state, and local level)
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required
