HVAC Sales Manager
Our client is a well-established, growing, solutions-focused mechanical contractor located in Denver, Colorado. They provide plumbing, sheet metal, hydronics, 24-hour service, and fabrication for construction projects ranging from small to large high-rises. They employ over 175+ employees and are among the top 10 Colorado Mechanical Contractors.
The HVAC Sales Manager is a newly created role designed to drive growth by balancing leadership responsibilities and direct sales accountability. Reporting to the Director of Services, Operations, and Sales, this position focuses on driving revenue through proactive lead generation, with 80% of the focus on expanding the customer base by targeting past and present construction clients and critical projects. The manager will lead each team member to achieve targets in preventative maintenance service revenue and renewals, service contracts, and pull-through opportunities while personally securing new preventative maintenance agreements and service contract work.
This role also emphasizes aligning the team with the company's vision and culture, fostering a high-performing sales environment through clear direction, urgency, and strong interpersonal skills. Additionally, it includes a commitment to advancing personal leadership and sales management skills through structured, quarterly development opportunities to ensure continuous growth and effectiveness. Your time in this role will be divided as follows:
• 40% Leading, Managing, and Accountability (LMA): Reboard and coach the sales team, aligning them with the company’s vision and fostering a culture of performance, urgency, and succession planning through structured leadership and coaching.
• 40% Driving Revenue and Customer Satisfaction: Drive new revenue by expanding the customer base, generating leads, and promoting preventative maintenance programs with intentional focus on client needs and teamwork to build loyalty.
• 15% Sales Administration: Refine processes, track metrics, manage proposals, and ensure competitive strategies by applying strong planning, organization, and resourceful execution.
• 5% Superior Communication and Relationship Building: Build collaborative relationships internally and externally through interpersonal skills and a people-oriented approach that strengthens partnerships and opportunities.
This role ensures alignment with company values, fosters a high-performing sales culture, and emphasizes competitive and purposeful leadership.
This role is Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekend work as needed to meet client and business demands.
Qualifications:
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC services and direct sales, with a proven track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas.
· 3 years of HVAC sales management experience, leading a direct commercial HVAC sales team.
· Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and HVAC/industry
· Demonstrated strong leadership, customer service, and sales skills, with a proven ability to guide the sales team in achieving or exceeding their goals.
· Proven experience preparing and presenting professional proposals and RFQ responses, including coordinating with estimators across multiple trades.
· Expertise in creating and delivering polished presentations to service and construction customers.
· Strong analytical skills and ability to handle multiple projects and proposals simultaneously
· Skilled in deal negotiation and tracking trend logs to identify optimal customer solutions and ensure a smooth transition to operations.
· Proficiency in implementing and managing CRM databases, focusing on maintaining team accountability and data integrity.
· EOS experience a plus
· Proficient in Excel and Word, including use of pivot tables and advanced formulas
· Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Compensation
• Base salary range of $90,000 – 139,000 /year, dependent on experience
