We are seeking a skilled and versatile Maintenance Techs to join our team. This crew will initially support site start-up activities with a focus on commissioning and transitioning projects into the maintenance phase. The crew will be made up of 3 HVAC Maintenance Technicians, 3 Generator Technicians, and 3 Electrical Switchgear Technicians who will collaborate to ensure that critical systems are properly commissioned, maintained, and transitioned to long-term operational readiness.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide hands-on support during the start-up and commissioning phases of new projects, including HVAC systems, generators, and electrical switchgear. Ensure that all systems are installed, tested, and commissioned according to specifications and safety standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on HVAC systems (e.g., chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, etc.).
• Work closely with the site teams to ensure HVAC systems are fully functional and operating at optimal efficiency.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial generators, including inspections, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Assist in the commissioning and start-up of generator systems and perform load testing, fuel checks, and system verification.
• Perform maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear, PDC, UPS, and other related systems.
• Assist in commissioning, calibrating, and testing electrical systems and equipment to ensure operational performance.
• As the projects transition from commissioning to the maintenance phase, ensure a seamless handover of responsibilities, including the implementation of ongoing preventive maintenance schedules, identification of potential issues, and resolution of any arising problems.
• Work closely with other members of the maintenance crew and site teams to coordinate activities, ensuring that tasks are completed on schedule and in accordance with project requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, system diagnostics, and troubleshooting reports. Ensure all reports are submitted on time and meet regulatory and client requirements.
• Adhere to all safety standards and regulations while performing maintenance and troubleshooting activities. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring all team members follow proper safety protocols.
Professional Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance, with a strong background in industrial HVAC systems (preferably in data centers or critical infrastructure environments).
• 3+ years of experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial generators.
• 3+ years of experience with electrical switchgear systems, including PDC, UPS, and other critical infrastructure systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in HVAC, generator systems, and electrical switchgear. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints for system maintenance.
• Relevant certifications in HVAC (e.g., EPA 608), electrical (e.g., Journeyman Electrician), and/or generator systems are preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor environments.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime and ensure continued system functionality.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Understanding and adherence to safety procedures and protocols for working with industrial systems.
• Willingness to travel and work at multiple sites in the Austin, Hutto, and Lancaster areas during the project transition phases.
