Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation of accurate estimates for HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems, excellent organizational skills, and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing systems on commercial projects, including reviewing blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculations for materials, equipment, and labor requirements using estimating software.
• Research material costs, equipment pricing, and subcontractor bids to ensure accurate estimates.
• Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, and the sales team to align project scope and goals.
• Attend project meetings and site visits to gather information and assess project needs.
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and project-related documentation.
• Analyze and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals for accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, pricing, and new technologies in HVAC and plumbing systems.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1-3 years of experience in HVAC or plumbing estimating, design, or construction (internship experience accepted).
• Basic knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems and components in commercial settings.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the HVAC and plumbing industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with commercial construction estimating tools or software.
• Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or other design software is a plus.
