About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the Museum's mechanical systems. This role involves supervising personnel, managing work orders, and ensuring continuous operation of our physical plant systems across 750,000 square feet of museum property. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, with experience in HVAC, diagnostics, and repair. They will also be able to supervise personnel, manage building systems, and respond to emergencies. Additionally, they must have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Responsibilities:
Schedule and plan maintenance for all mechanical systems. Monitor and troubleshoot system problems, coordinating with contractors and recommending upgrades. Administer preventative maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Supervise and mentor a team of mechanical personnel, aligning hiring practices with the Museum's diversity goals. Oversee projects and contractors, negotiating contracts for cost-effective results. Respond to emergencies, including power failures, building evacuations, and safety incidents.
