Vicinity Energy is a leading provider of district energy solutions, offering low-carbon energy to iconic buildings in major US cities.
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will perform customer service-related work in mechanical, piping, controls, and HVAC chilled water and hydronic heating systems.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working in the trades in a field service role and possess a strong understanding of steam, hot water, chilled water, and HVAC distribution principles and components.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of customer equipment on Boston's District Steam System.
• Test, repair, replace, and service major steam, condensate, hot water, and chilled water components such as pumps, PRV's, steam traps, heat exchangers, and hot water systems.
• Prepare technical reports to accurately describe conditions and work performed.
• Maintain good customer relations while promoting the image of the company.
• Assist others as required.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience working in the trades in a field service role.
• Class D Driver's License and a clean drivers record.
• At least 2 of the following licenses: MA Journeyman Pipe fitter's, MA plumber's licenses, or MA HVAC license.
