Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Purchasing Specialist to join our team at See It Right Here. This role will be responsible for implementing and executing strategic purchasing initiatives, negotiating supplier pricing, and maintaining optimal inventory levels for our premier plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment distributor.
About the Position
The Strategic Purchasing Specialist will play a key role in driving business growth and improving efficiency through effective supply chain management. Key responsibilities include:
• Managing purchase orders and expediting for timely material delivery.
• Achieving continuous improvement objectives in cost, lead time, quality, and other performance requirements.
• Overseeing pricing and invoicing consistency.
• Developing supply agreements with key supplier partners.
• Assuming a sourcing lead role in commodity spend.
• Meeting cost reduction initiatives.
• Advising the Supply Chain Director on factors affecting supplier schedules.
• Communicating Supply Chain issues between departments.
• Creating daily forecasting reports for optimal inventory levels.
• Developing scorecard reporting activities.
• Coordinating with Branch Managers on inventory processes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC & Plumbing Supply Chain/Purchasing background.
• The ability to work with little supervision, prioritize tasks, and track multiple processes.
• The ability to analyze supplier cost positions and make decisions based on experience.
• The ability to think strategically and tactically.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Advanced Excel).
• Demonstrated knowledge of working in a wholesale distribution ERP environment.
• The ability to purchase up to $50,000 of product from a vendor without approval.
