We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer with expertise in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to join our team at The Falcon Group.
About the Role
This mid-level position is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to take on new challenges and contribute to the success of our projects. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing, calculating, and drafting HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, domestic hot water boilers, hydronic piping systems, heat pumps, and other applicable systems.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring the accurate interpretation of project requirements, technical specifications, and construction documents. You will work closely with the team to understand the scope of work, budget, goals, deliverables, and timeline to ensure project success.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building codes regulations and standards, as well as experience with load calculation software such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP. Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of mechanical design principles are also essential.
Responsibilities
• Design, calculate, and draft HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, domestic hot water boilers, hydronic piping systems, heat pumps, and other applicable systems.
• Interpret project requirements, technical specifications, and construction documents to ensure accurate implementation.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure project success, including coordinating internal kick-off, milestone, and closeout meetings.
• Conduct site visits, documenting existing conditions, performing field testing, photographing, and creating hand-sketches.
• Maintain organized records, files, drawings, and other essential project data.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering-related disciplines.
• Five plus years of experience in mechanical consulting and design engineering services environment.
• OSHA-10 Certification preferred.
• Valid United States Driver's License required, as this position requires travel to and from client sites.
