Job Summary
As a Counter Sales Representative , you will be representing a trusted HVAC and Refrigeration industry wholesaler and providing prompt, professional, and expert customer service, counter sales, and product knowledge to local and regional businesses requiring HVAC/R parts, equipment, and services.
Essential Functions
• Sales & Sales Support – Respond to customer inquiries and orders professionally and efficiently.
• Order Entry/Processing – Accurately process, service, and fulfill customer orders.
• Customer Service – Build and maintain meaningful customer relationships.
• Inventory – Conduct or provide back-up for inventory cycle counts.
• Branch Upkeep – Maintain the appearance and safety of the store.
Experience & Qualifications
• HVAC or Refrigeration knowledge and experience is desired but not required.
• Relevant professional wholesale, retail, or business to business customer service/sales experience
• Ability to listen and communicate by phone, writing, and in-person with customers in a professional and prompt manner.
• Ability to successfully prioritize and conduct the various sales, customer service, order entry, inventory,
delivery, and housekeeping tasks of the branch on a daily basis.
• Ability to understand and calculate numbers and figures related to branch/company sales, purchase orders, inventory, etc. (i.e. revenue, profits, discounts, percentages)
• Basic computer skills - Outlook, Word, Excel, and/or inventory software is a plus .
• Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift and pass forklift safety test.
• Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced workplace (technical business to business retail/wholesale, with on- site warehousing and delivery operations), work independently and with branch team members to maintain and grow sales and customer relationships, as well as enhance your knowledge of Dennis Supply products, services, business practices and objectives.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities
• Sales & Customer Service
Assist customers and promote counter, phone, and online sales by educating customers on Dennis Supply’s HVAC and refrigeration products, providing excellent customer service, and by building strong, long-lasting relationships.
Support and engage with our Territory Sales Representatives by responding to sales team requests, provide product information and sales quotes, and share prospective sales leads or ideas that support business development and growth for the branch and company.
• Order Entry & Customer Quotes
Input and verify customer orders, account details, and product information to ensure accurate order entry.
Place, schedule, and ensure timely product delivery.
Conduct payment transactions and account reconciliations for customer orders.
Follow-up on special product orders and backordered items to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide customers with product & service quotes.
Oversee/Conduct the process for unavailable inventory. (i.e. special orders, nonstock orders)
• Inventory & Cycle Counting
Maintain accurate inventory and proper bin locations on all stocked items.
Perform cycle counts and report discrepancies as instructed.
Provide feedback to inventory distribution department on issues related to stock levels, non-stock inventory, or other inventory requirements.
• Branch Upkeep & Safety
Ensure all areas of the branch/store are kept clean, orderly, and safe.
Keep all store displays orderly and up to date.
• Education & Training
Commit to continued product education and professional training as provided to expand employee product knowledge, enhance customer relationships, maintain and grow the business, and promote career advancement.
Attend informational webinars, seminars, meetings, and training sessions that promote new/existing product knowledge, business objectives, and workforce initiatives.
Educational Experience
• High school diploma or GED required, additional certification or coursework from a college or technical
school is desirable.
Physical Demands
• Work may involve lifting products weighing up to 50 pounds.
