About the Job
Dorsett Controls is looking for a highly skilled HVAC System Monitor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the HVAC base-wide system at Fort Eisenhower Military Base.
You will work closely with our team to ensure seamless operations and make recommendations for process improvements. Your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor alarms and respond to phone calls in a timely manner
• Create service orders for trouble calls and dispatch UMCS Automation Technicians as needed
• Log and create Dig Permit work orders to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain tracking logs for all trouble calls and alarms, as well as updates to the UMCS Daily Log
• Prepare reports from database to provide insights into system performance
• Develop point-to-point spreadsheets for UMCS Automation Technicians to streamline workflow
• Create Graphical Programmable Language (GPL) to maintain building set points and time-of-day scheduling for energy management and human comfort
• Design graphics displays to properly display building footprint and/or equipment schematics
• Monitor utility prices and alert management when it's feasible to run the peak load shaving generator plant
• Take appropriate actions during a utility load shed event
• Track post consumption of natural gas during service curtailment periods
• React properly to electrical power outages and document events for AARs
• Identify areas of process improvement and discuss solutions with supervisor
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• 6-12 months of experience in a similar role
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet software
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and automation control systems
