About the Role
We are currently seeking a qualified Steamfitter to work on various projects at the City of Chicago. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes and pipe systems in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial piping and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
Estimated Salary: $57.00/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Removes damaged, defective, or obsolete pipes and pipe systems and related equipment
- Ensures adequate supplies of tools, equipment, and materials at work sites to complete the job
- Reads documents (e.g., blueprints, specifications, work orders) to assess work required and to determine the proper installation and repair methods to use
Requirements
- Journeyman certification in steamfitting
- Valid State of Illinois Driver's License
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights
