Refrigeration Engineer
We are experiencing unprecedented growth at Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm. As a result, we have a full-time position available for a Refrigeration Engineer.
About the Role
This role involves conducting job-site surveys and calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads. You will assist in developing project documentation, including drawings, P&IDs, equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc. Additionally, you will select and apply system equipment to new and existing systems, as well as coordinate technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
Responsibilities
• Conduct job-site surveys to determine refrigeration requirements
• Calculate refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads
• Assist in developing project documentation, including:
• Drawings
• Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Equipment schedules
• Details
• Specifications
• Scope of work
• Select and apply system equipment to new and existing systems
• Coordinate technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
• At least five years of relevant mechanical experience
• PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with project management
• Ammonia refrigeration design
• Chilled water/hydronic design
• Equipment selection
• Developing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
• Microsoft Office software
• Mentoring less experienced staff

Salary Range
$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
