About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer/HVAC Specialist to join our team at St. Louis Community College. As a key member of our Utilities department, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all power plant, field, and HVAC equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC repair and maintenance, with experience working on complex systems. You will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

What You'll Do:
• Maintain and repair power plant equipment, including electrical circuits, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, and high-voltage electrical networks.
• Repair and maintain heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment, including air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and boilers.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate thermostats, air mixing boxes, and other HVAC system devices.
• Assist Grounds during weather emergencies.
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a 2-year or longer HVAC program at an accredited vocational school, college, or university.
• Three (3) years of full-time experience in heat generation and air conditioning installation and repair, HVAC repair, installation, and troubleshooting, and use of refrigerant recovery equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of automated HVAC systems and controllers with computer-based operating systems and vocational training in this area.
• Valid driver's license and insurance.
Estimated Salary: $83,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and location.
