Job Description
This employee will be responsible for setting up, operating, and providing education on home medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BiPAP units, and other related equipment.
The employee will also review prescription and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration, compatible with physician orders.
Responsibilities
• Set up, operate, and provide education on home medical equipment, including CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and/or mechanical ventilators.
• Inspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.
• Review prescription and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration, compatible with physician orders.
• Maintain patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts.
Requirements
• CRTs and RRTs are qualified for this position, subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may also be qualified.
• Must remain certified, registered, or licensed by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinical practice or as otherwise permitted by law.
• Must have reliable personal vehicle to visit patients throughout assigned territory (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance in state of residence, per company policy.
• In-depth knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
