Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Description
Responsible for self-managing, scheduling, and budgeting assigned project work. Define, oversee, and commission the implementation of technically complex building automation systems, with a specific focus on large networks, third-party integration, and complex systems. Serve as a technical expert in system troubleshooting and system definition, both remotely and on-site. Provide detailed information on the design and operation to the field installation team and review submitted materials to meet specifications and standards.
Responsibilities
• Self-manage, schedule, and budget assigned project work.
• Define, oversee, and commission the implementation of technical complex building automation systems.
• Serve as a technical expert in system troubleshooting and system definition.
• Provide detailed information on the design and operation to the field installation team.
• Review submitted materials including DDC modules, field sensing, and control devices.
• Create software and graphics solutions for specific project work.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support to the operations install team.
• Execute and manage commissioning tasks within budget.
• Support the operations manager and field supervisor in training and mentoring team members.
• Liaise between the field installation team and engineering team focused on third-party integrations.
• Troubleshoot communications and control issues to ensure a trouble-free customer network.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects.
• Record and document delays, changes in scope, and other incidents impacting the scope of work or schedule.
• Pursue cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
• Perform critical path analysis and prepare and implement work-around plans.
• Conduct meetings and present plans and progress reports.
• Identify and react to project problems and recommend solutions.
Essential Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and project management skills.
• Ability to read and understand scope of work.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Field experience and understanding of installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls.
• Experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, InterOp 3.02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, Supervision, and Accel Works.
• Prior experience in Construction, HVAC, and/or Building Automation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with third-party control systems and integrations.
• Proficiency in modifying and manipulating software.
• Growth opportunities within software engineering and design engineering teams.
Work Environment
The territory for this position includes both NY and NJ. Candidates will be responsible for driving their own vehicles and will be reimbursed for daily expenses such as tolls, gas, and mileage. There is no need to report to Clifton every day; candidates can go straight to the job site from their homes. Contractors are eligible for reimbursement up to 56 miles per day. Reimbursements include out-of-pocket expenses such as parking and tolls. Upon transitioning to a full-time employee, additional benefits include a company car, EZ pass, and company credit card. Typical hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with no on-call shifts in the install group, but there is an opportunity for overtime.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00
