Job Description
The Advanced Technology Engineer Internship will help test and validate systems with specific attention to the electronic controls on an on-going basis. This position will be writing automated test scripts, configuring test systems, writing test reports, and working with hardware controls. You will work under and be given direction from systems engineers on a daily basis. You will work under and be given direction from systems engineers daily.
This position will serve our ATI Division, located in Indianapolis, IN (onsite). This Internship is for SPRING (part time) + SUMMER (full time) 2025.
Responsibilities
• Assemble experimental circuitry and complete prototype models according to engineering schematics, instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
• Assemble and verify various HVAC systems as well as test fixtures which include various AC voltage levels (24/120/220VAC) as well as DC voltage levels (12/5/3.3VDC)
• Set up standard test apparatus or design test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models.
• Upgrade software and run software tests on existing electronic systems. To include maintaining detailed records of validity tests and upgrades performed.
• Maintain a safety conscious environment for all personnel working in lab.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Full time student working towards an Engineering Degree
• Understand basic voltage and current circuits, diagrams, schematics and instructions in order to complete installation or troubleshooting of electronics systems, parts or wiring networks.
• Ability to read, understand and implement technical procedures, and government regulations and to record technical information
• Basic working knowledge of electronic controls test and instrumentation equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and environmental test chambers
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel
