Job Description: The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks in a skilled nursing facility. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that the facility's infrastructure and equipment are in good working order and meet all safety and compliance regulations. The Maintenance Technician will work in collaboration with other staff members to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facility equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues promptly to prevent any disruptions to facility operations.
• Manage facility inventory and order supplies when needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and systems are functioning optimally.
• Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work performed and report any issues that require further attention to the appropriate parties.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies as they arise.
• Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines when performing maintenance work.
• Attend all required training sessions and meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a maintenance technician role, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues.
• Experience with preventative maintenance tasks.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
The Maintenance Technician will be required to work in a skilled nursing facility, which may include exposure to hazardous materials, high noise levels, and various environmental factors. The technician will be required to work both indoors and outdoors, and may be required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays on occasion.
