About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Journeyman Service Technician to join our team in the Chicago area.
Job Summary

Main Responsibilities:
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and provide recommendations.
• Perform regular maintenance on heating and cooling units.
• Install, replace, or repair equipment, including calibrating thermostatic controls, worn heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts, and low- and high-pressure liquid lines.
• Assemble and install metal ductwork.
• Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems.
• Provide estimates of materials required.
• Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment.
• Read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
• Interpret City, State, and EPA regulations.
• Maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives.
• Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
• Recognize risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations and implement appropriate controls.
• Identify situations that require escalation or elevation to Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
• A minimum of 5 years of practical working experience in the HVAC industry.
• Possess and maintain valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier.
• Be a current union member or willing to join a union.
• Have a High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the above requirements, having experience with building automation controls and being proficient in Salesforce and ServiceMax would be beneficial.
