Job Overview
The Service Manager oversees all aspects of field labor, materials, profit, loss, project performance, and safety, as well as managing field labor, subcontractors, and vendors in collaboration with the Services business unit.
Key Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
• Meet or exceed financial expectations, budgets, and goals by monitoring pricing and reviewing cost data with the Business Unit Manager.
• Manage cash position of the business unit, resolving dollar disputes between estimates and actual costs.
• Build and sustain customer relationships for complete customer satisfaction.
• Manage dispatch procedures and effective communication with field staff resources.
• Lead field labor management, including service teams and roles, with the business unit.
• C coordinate with the Business Unit Manager on hiring, termination, performance reviews, salary changes, personnel issues, and talent development within the business unit.
• Initiate technician labor productivity improvements in partnership with Field Supervisors to ensure quality work to company standards and project requirements.
• Estimate service repair and replacement projects.
• Promote and account for all aspects of Safety and Risk Management, ensuring proper oversight of contracts, certificates of insurance, and bonds.
• Assist Field Supervisors in regulating quality control on Service jobs.
• Maintain employee morale and retention at a high level.
• Manage inventory and tool procurement for service vehicles.
• Maintain continuing education programs for Service field personnel.
• Perform Services' orientation for new hires.
• Conduct project kick-off meetings to coordinate small jobs with Management.
• Coordinate subs and vendors related to Service jobs.
• Assist in software and technology tool development (estimation and hand-held devices).
• Participate in staff meetings with the Business Unit Manager, addressing management issues, training, safety, and productivity improvements.
This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Business Unit Manager.
Requirements
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
• 5+ years' experience in the service business.
• NFPA 70 certification.
• Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to lead a team of technicians.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
• Able to multitask and perform duties outside of scope when necessary.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline.
Travel Requirements
20% of time spent traveling to job site/office location.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
