Data Center Operations (DCO) Systems Technician I
A highly skilled and motivated individual is needed to work as a team player in our Data Center Operations (DCO) department. The successful candidate will provide technical support for all maintenance, operations, and expansion efforts.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain 100% critical systems uptime.
• Train towards becoming a First Responder to critical infrastructure alarms.
• Accurately complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Handle different tools and equipment with precision.
• Adhere to Switch Safety Policy and Procedure.
• Work with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets Switch standards.
• Assist in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
• Perform assigned collateral duties and tasks assigned by management staff.
• Attend assigned meetings and training.
• Maintain professional appearance.
Requirements
• Solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including electrical feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS Systems, DC power Systems, ATS/STS units, PDU units, breakers, batteries, load bank connections, CRACs, air handling units, fluid coolers, pumps, cages, and fire suppression systems.
• Knowledge of data center, safety, electrical, and cooling designs.
• Familiarity with established safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to work any shift in a 24x7x365 Operation, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic typing, email, and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certification: Outlook Fundamentals, OSHA 10, Material Equipment Operator (MEO), First Aid/CPR, NFPA-70E (Arc Flash), Golf Cart, Data Center University, Building Fire Riser, Fire Extinguisher.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical Trade School related to Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics (HVAC Highly Preferred).
• Experience: 2-year experience in general field as full-time employee.
Estimated Salary Range
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
