HVAC Chiller Mechanic Job Overview
Johnson Controls is seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to support the growth of our North American business. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
Job Description:
As an HVAC Chiller Mechanic, you will work on air-cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHUs or large roof-top ducted units. You will troubleshoot mechanical issues, repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and/or ammonia / hydrocarbon system components. Additionally, you will maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification and have extensive experience in HVAC systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience working with air-cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHUs or large roof-top ducted units
• Strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and/or ammonia/hydrocarbon system components
• Ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification
• Extensive experience in HVAC systems, including chilled water loops, pumping, compressor enthalpy and compressor trouble shooting and rebuild
• Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, lasers, etc. of pumps, fans, compressors
• Ability to use vibration equipment to trouble shoot compressor drivelines
• Proficient in operations, trouble shooting and repair of large tonnage chiller 460 vac VSDs
• Valid driver's license and universal EPA refrigerants license
