As a HVAC Design Lead at Hargrove Engineers & Constructors, you will be responsible for leading the design of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, for projects from concept through construction. This position requires a strong leadership role and a high level of expertise in building mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of engineers and designers, developing proposals, estimates, and project schedules, and ensuring that all design deliverables are completed on time and within budget. You will also be responsible for designing overall HVAC systems, using design software to prepare engineering and design documents, and evaluating existing HVAC systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing engineering studies and schematic designs for new HVAC/Utilities, producing estimate-level preliminary designs, and performing fieldwork necessary to gather field data and provide construction support. To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred. You should have 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical engineering with specific experience in building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems). Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, IMC, IECC, and NFPA is required. Experience designing hazardous facilities is a plus, as is experience with calculation software, equipment selection programs, AutoCAD, and Revit. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 per year.
