Job Title: Licensed HVAC Technician or Licensed Building Engineer
Description:
We are seeking a skilled Licensed HVAC Technician or Licensed Building Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing complex technical work in the HVAC trade functions, including installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service, and repair of commercial building systems, equipment, and related mechanical systems.
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $41,800 - $44,000 per year. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving as an onsite supervisor for a team of 6 maintenance technicians and performing various general maintenance functions, including efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems.
The qualified candidate will possess a journeyman's HVAC License or DC 3rd Class Engineer License, Universal CFC certification, and knowledge of emergency systems, including redundancy, isolation, change over, and shut down of all utilities and mission critical systems.
The job requires strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in brazing and soldering techniques. The successful candidate will also have experience supervising trades staff and working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Maintains and supports subcontractors in the performance of maintenance on all primary and secondary HVAC systems.
• Performs proactive, reactive, and preventive maintenance of commercial and industrial Building Automation System (BAS), 200+ tons Centrifugal Chillers, Air Cooled Chillers, Cooling Towers, Air Handling Units, DX units, Pumps, Variable Air Volume, Reheats, Fan Coil Unit, Low Pressure Steam, Steam Traps, Heat Exchangers, Chemical Treatment, Controls, and other building mechanical equipment.
• Ensures that all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with industry standards, building protocol, manufacturer recommendations, and industry best practices.
• Inspects engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling tower, all motors, house pumps, electric rooms, back-up generator, fire pump(s), sump pump(s), and ejector pumps.
Requirements:
• Journeyman's HVAC License or DC 3rd Class Engineer License
• Universal CFC certification
• Five years of experience in O&M/Facilities Management of buildings with equipment of the approximate size, complexity, and other characteristics of the equipment to be operated and maintained.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Proficiency in brazing and soldering techniques
