Summary:
Responsible for performing environmental monitoring of water systems, compressed gasses, non-viable air, viable air, and surfaces in all manufacturing and aseptic processing areas. Perform personnel monitoring in the aseptic processing areas. Perform air quality audits of the manufacturing and aseptic processing areas. Maintain QA quarantine freezer. Issue observation reports, corrective actions and facilities work request and facilities work request as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
• Assists in performing annual and semi annual HEPA filter certifications per ISO specifications.
• Responsible for maintaining air handler filters and HEPA filters.
• Assist in performing HEPA filter integrity tests. Repair filters, or replace filters as needed
• Measure HEPA velocities and adjust velocities as needed per procedures.
• Assist in air balancing rooms, ensuring air pressurization is correct and calculate room air changes.
• Responsible for particle count rooms to ensure cleanrooms are within their classification.
• Ensures compliance with Quality Systems Regulations and ISO guidelines for design control.
• Maintains and replaces intermediate air handler filters during HVAC shutdowns.
• Perform smoke studies ensuring proper laminator air flow.
Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED, A.A. or B.S. desirable
• Minimum of 0-1 year industry experience with FDA regulated and biopharmaceutical or devices environment required.
• Direct experience in Environmental Monitoring and Quality Assurance or Quality control required.
• Must have strong knowledge of manufacturing and aseptic processing areas.
• Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in a tram environment.
• Computer literate and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be flexible with working hours.
• Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Hepa Filter integrity testing, replacement and repair of Hepa Filters is preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC trade is preferred.
• Ability to read, write and interpret technical documents and instructions, mechanical and P&ID drawings, and equipment blue prints.
• Knowledge of basic engineering principles, troubleshooting, statistics and study design, including effective analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, as well as good math skills.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, including effective oral and written communication skills
• Good organizational skills with ability to perform multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.
• Flexibility and ability to handle multiple functions.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and work well under time constraints.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and use good judgment while performing multiple tasks.
• Proactive, results oriented, with a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of computer usage with proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Ability to interact with all levels of personnel in a professional manner.
• Ability to keep neat, accurate and complete records and logs.
• Must have flexible schedule and willingness to be on call.
The estimated pay scale for the Environmental Air Technician role based in Los Angeles, CA, is $22.50 per hour. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 5% of the company bonus pool.
