This heating and cooling position earns competitive pay of $30/hr plus performance bonuses, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN HVAC SERVICE MANAGER
As an HVAC Service Manager, you are the cornerstone of our heating and air conditioning projects. Each day, you arrive at work ready to monitor and implement our company's processes as well as provide technical support to our techs. You manage each service and maintenance job, ensuring that each call is brought to an effective resolution and each customer is highly satisfied. When necessary, you assist in the field with technical issues, callbacks, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you perform quotes on unusual service repairs that are not listed in our flat-rate pricing system and manage our service on-call program. Your department stays focused on the sale and retention of residential, school, institutional, and light commercial clients.
In addition to recruiting and hiring, you also maintain a consistent, structured technician group training program covering the areas of technical skills, customer relations, sales, sales leads, and processes. You ensure each technician maintains our high standards of personal dress and grooming and that each vehicle is serviced and appropriately maintained. When appropriate, you provide individual coaching and training for our techs, ensuring they know the ideal ways to sell heating and cooling systems that best meet our customers' needs. Your team knows they can count on you to mentor them and encourage them to grow their skills so that our company continues to provide the quality services we are known for.
On a semi-annual basis, you conduct performance feedback sessions with all departmental coworkers in order to help them reach their goals. Additionally, you correspond directly with customers to answer questions, sell heating and cooling services, and resolve concerns. With your excellent communication skills, you keep the operations manager informed and advised of any suggestions, such as price changes, additional heating and cooling products or services that can be added to the portfolio, or any recommended wage increases. QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN HVAC SERVICE MANAGER
• Experience as an HVAC service manager
• Experience in troubleshooting and diagnostics
• HVAC controls skills
• EPA certification
• NATE (North American technician excellence) or NCI (National Comfort Institute) certification
• Valid driver's license
• Computer literacy
The ability to learn and implement ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 180, the standard practice for the inspection and maintenance of commercial building HVAC systems, is preferred.
