Job Title: HVAC Technician
Job Description
The HVAC Technician will install, inspect, test, operate, and repair all refrigeration and related equipment for preserving food, making ice, cooling water, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation. The role involves calibrating, repairing, and maintaining all pneumatic control systems and related equipment, cleaning and maintaining grills, ducts, and shaft ways in A/C, ventilating, and exhaust systems. Additionally, the technician will complete scheduled preventative maintenance and keep records, working closely with the maintenance team to solve issues around the campus.
Responsibilities
• Install, inspect, test, operate, and repair refrigeration and related equipment.
• Calibrate, repair, and maintain pneumatic control systems and related equipment.
• Clean and maintain grills, ducts, and shaft ways in A/C, ventilating, and exhaust systems.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and keep records.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to solve issues around the campus.
Essential Skills
• Experience with HVAC equipment
• Electrical troubleshooting
• Mechanical repair
• Maintenance technician experience
• Preventive maintenance skills
• S2 License required
• Experience working on rooftop units
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with gas boilers preferred
• Experience with small kitchen appliances, HVAC service, blueprint reading, and installation
• OSHS 10 certification beneficial but not required
• Experience within an education system preferred
• Ability to work autonomously

Work Environment
You will work on a campus with about 15 other individuals across various trades. While there will be some interaction and collaboration, this position is primarily independent. The role operates on a 1st shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Hartford, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
