Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, the Engineer/HVAC Technician is responsible for the proper and continued operation and maintenance of all building mechanical systems necessary to maintain a safe and satisfactory working environment that will sustain and preserve assets. Tasks of performing Preventative Maintenance work on equipment, proactively identifying, fulfilling work orders and actively problem solving. Operate, maintain, and perform repairs on assigned HVAC equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, refrigeration equipment and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems to ensure optimal performance.

Required Skills
• HVAC control systems service and repair experience.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining of a wide variety of HVAC Control systems and air systems.
• Honest, reliable, dependable, and ability to meet the demands of the work environment.
• Good critical thinking skills, accurate data collection, ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
• Ability to identify potential issues during shift rounds, develop corrective actions, and solutions oriented.
Required Experience
Required:
• High School Diploma
• Demonstrate competence in HVAC repair and maintenance
• Requires a valid California Driver’s License and automobile insurance.
Preferred:
• Prior experience in a Hospital environment
• HVAC Technician Certification EPA Clean Air Section 608
• Building Automation Control System experience
• Boiler Operator experience
• Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience with Hospital/commercial HVAC equipment and systems
