In this role, you will handle preventative maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs of HVAC systems to ensure they function optimally and comply with safety standards.

Main Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, ensuring all equipment is clean and functioning properly.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues, carrying out necessary repairs.
• Travel to various campuses to address service requests as needed.
• Ensure compliance of all HVAC equipment with local, state, and federal regulations for safety and efficiency.
• Maintain detailed service logs and documentation of inspections, repairs, and parts replacements.
• Recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance system performance and longevity.
• Coordinate service schedules and communicate effectively with school staff and maintenance teams.
• Assist with inventory management and procurement recommendations.
• Respond quickly to urgent repair requests to minimize downtime.
• Stay informed about the latest HVAC safety protocols and best practices.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification or training in HVAC systems preferred.
• EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Experience in educational or institutional environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with HVAC diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Proficient use of computer applications for reporting and record-keeping.
Skills Needed:
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Competence in using hand and power tools specific to HVAC repairs.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to safety.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
• Capability to lift and carry heavy HVAC equipment.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions; physically demanding tasks such as climbing and bending.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
Additional Requirements:
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (truck or van preferred).
• Must pass a criminal background check as per the California State Education Code.
