Thermal Equipment Sales, Inc. was incorporated in February of 1962 and has been representing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) manufacturers ever since.
Thermal Equipment Sales, Inc. has become a leader in the HVAC sales and service industry in the state of Kentucky by conducting business with a high level of competence, product knowledge, honesty and integrity. Our firm works closely with consulting engineers and mechanical contractors to design, sell, and service HVAC equipment on new construction projects, renovation projects, and replacement projects.
Position Summary
An individual in this position should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a high technical/engineering ability. An education in mechanical engineering or possibly other degreed engineer with technical sales and experience in the HVAC industry are a plus.
Primary Functions

• Develop new business relationships with clients
• Understand and respect individual personalities resident at each client
• Learn and design new technical equipment application details
• Inform customers of new products & services, classically via sales calls, presentations, etc.
• Collaborate with other sales rep firms when performing cross-territory work
• Travel for training/business meetings required
• Select equipment for consulting engineers during design phase of projects
• Market equipment at customer events and trade shows
• Prepare specifications and schedules for consulting engineers during design phase of projects
• Collaborate with inside sales team to estimate projects and prepare scopes
• Negotiate with the contracting community to secure contracts (purchases)
• Oversee preparation of submittals by inside staff and technical documents for engineering review
• Oversee preparation of order entry documentation
• Work with current team members to promote Thermal Equipment Sales, Inc. as a leader in customer service
• Collaborate with manufacturing companies and regional sales managers in a professional manner
• Take initiative to learn about all represented manufacturer’s products to a level where you are the expert. Frequent, continual product learning is a requirement.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards on behalf of Thermal Equipment Sales and your own reputation.

Education, Abilities, and Skills
• BS Degree in Engineering required, industry experience preferred.
• General computer knowledge with emphasis in the following software applications: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficient in technical writing that will be utilized in all forms of internal and field communication.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and visualize concepts.
• Great organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks on time.
• Ability to listen, understand and address all customer needs.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Physical ability to visit construction sites and owner’s buildings as needed, including the ability to climb a ladder when needed to access rooftop equipment.
