Heatcraft Refrigeration is a long-standing leader in the world of commercial refrigeration, providing climate-control solutions. Their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the cities of Stone Mountain and Tifton, Georgia, produce evaporators, condensers, compressor racks, and other top-quality refrigeration products for their six market-leading brands: Bohn, Larkin, Climate Control, Chandler, Magna Industrial and InterLink. Heatcraft products are primarily used to preserve food and other perishables in supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, warehouses and distribution centers, in addition to other applications such as data centers, pharmaceutical and industrial process cooling.

JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer IV
LOCATION: Stone Mountain, GA, and hybrid role, may work from home
DUTIES:
- Develop and apply advanced Quality Assurance/Control methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex technical problems.
- Analyze, evaluate, and plan method of approach and organize means to achieve solution of complex technical problems.
- Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
- Review project progress and evaluate results.
- Recommend corrections in technical applications and analysis.
- Serve as an expert in Quality Management system and project management.
- Specify materials, equipment and supplies required for completion and implementation of technical projects.
- Evaluate and manage vendor quality to provide required products or services.
- Oversee inspectors in their use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems.
- Implement Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for the process sequence to identify critical risks and develop a control plan to contain the risks.
- Apply expertise in statistical analysis, capability studies, and Six Sigma.
- Support and maintain ISO 9001 – Quality Management System (QMS) actions and ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System (EMS) actions.
- Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) for critical processes, create an experiment plan, develop statistical methods to analyze the data, evaluate the data using hypothesis testing & Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and obtain right factor combination to maximize the process efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting through statistical analysis and assist in training less experienced engineers.
- Provide technical consultation, when needed, to technical staff or other organizations.
- Plan, conduct, and coordinate projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects.
- Create a comprehensive inspection requirements manual with acceptance criteria to be used for incoming inspection and in-line inspection throughout the facility by incorporating past supplier issues, past internal process issues and customer issues and eliminating defects through human decision making.
- Lead and qualify the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for all new parts or for parts that has Form, Fit, Function change.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance Analyst, or in a related/similar position.
- Experience therein to include 5 years of experience in the following:
- Quality Management Systems;
- Statistical Analysis and Capability studies;
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Potential Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA);
- and providing leadership in troubleshooting through statistical analysis.
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience, employer will accept a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the fields stated above and 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance Analyst, or in a related/similar position.
- Experience therein to include 2 years of experience in the skillset stated above.
- Requires experience, college project work or college coursework in Design and Analysis of Experiments (Exp.).
- Requires certification in Six Sigma Green Belt.
