Chesapeake Controls is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Estimator & Project Manager in Chesapeake, Virginia, and the surrounding area including Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, Suffolk, Newport News, and the Tidewater area.
The Mechanical Estimator and Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-day operations of the mechanical install team as well as serving as PM on all retrofit HVAC mechanical construction projects including the planning, documentation, execution, and overall management - including Equipment, Submittals, Change Orders, Communication, and other aspects of project management. Will serve as point of contact for customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal coordination delivering the project within budget and to the satisfaction of the customer.
Salary: $83,000-$110,00 plus commission
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Provide direct supervision of the mechanical install team including scheduling, timesheets, hiring, coaching and development
• Train new hires
• Order equipment and ensure delivery
• Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
• Create professional HVAC retrofit estimates and proposals capable of value selling by providing financial analysis, showing increased building reliability, efficiency, and improved tenant comfort
• Monitor projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, as well as managing issue and risk resolution and taking corrective action as necessary
• Provide accurate submittals to the Mechanical team prior to each job
• Identify new sales opportunities.
• Attend networking events to generate business.
• Leverage CRM software to log and manage sales opportunities
Certifications, qualifications & equivalent experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Business, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years’ prior experience in HVAC mechanical
• 3+ years of field experience in HVAC estimation
• Prior experience managing teams
• Extensive technical knowledge on the design, service, and installation of HVAC equipment
• Proven project management experience
• well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.
• analytical mind and great organizational skills
• Highly proficient computer skills with MS Office (Outlook/Excel/Project/Word/Visio).
• Some travel required
