Facility Inspector - HVAC
• **This position requires an active NACI/Tier 1 "Public Trust" clearance.***
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems inspector works as part of the on-site facility assessment team to conduct assessments of the HVAC components and systems in facilities and for infrastructure at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports as assessments are performed for transmittal to the assessment team leader. The HVAC systems inspector will work the other teams members, facility managers, and other HVAC experts to schedule and execute assessments of existing facilities and infrastructure.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facility Inspector - HVAC: $80,000 - $90,000 (Compensation package includes monthly housing allowance of $3,200/month)
Pay commensurate with experience.

Facility Inspector - HVAC Responsibilities Include:
• Adhere to and enforce safety per local standards, OSHA and USACE 385-1-1, Safety & Health Requirements Manual.
• Assess HVAC units such as ductwork, coils, refrigerants, filters, electric motors, piping/valves/actuators, controls, etc.
• Assess equipment wiring, piping, bearings, and breakers for safety standards and adherence to electrical codes
• Assist with HVAC system evaluations and assessments
• Review as-built drawings and identify differences in existing HVAC systems
• Provides review of HVAC work installed and maintained by others
• Provides service life information on equipment & devices.
• Inspects facilities and HVAC infrastructure for malfunctioning or unsafe items
• Assess the condition of HVAC systems and help identify components in need of maintenance or repair
• Maintain daily records on assessments conducted for each facility. Provide field information for facility assessment progress reports.
• Participate in weekly QC and progress meetings.
• Assessment work will include analysis and application of UFC and Japan-specific codes to HVAC systems and components.
• Database entry for facility condition information the Air Force SMS database, BUILDER
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Facility Inspector - HVAC Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
• Minimum of a High School Diploma and 5-7 years of facilities HVAC construction and/or maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A current Mechanical Journeyman License is desired.
• Experience working with Department of Defense facilities is desired and experience specifically with the U.S. Air Force or work in Japan is a plus
• English Level IV (Fluent) reading, writing, and speaking is required.
• Understanding of HVAC construction codes, standard construction techniques, and maintenance practices for HVAC systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective written, communication, presentation, technical, analytical and computer skills including working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Air Force NACI/SF85 for unescorted access to on-base facilities and access to government computer systems.
• Must have a valid passport.
