About the Job:
We are seeking a Commercial Security Systems Technician to join our team at System One. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial security systems, including fire alarms, access control systems, and intrusion detection systems.
Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include installing, repairing, and troubleshooting cabling systems and equipment in IP Video, Access Control / Intrusion Alarm / LAN/WAN infrastructure, and wireless LAN. You will also run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and conduit bending, and complete all wiring, connections/terminations, and equipment installations for fire alarm systems. Additionally, you will mount sensors at appropriate locations, perform tasks like drilling holes for cabling, and test to ensure all newly installed fire alarm systems and component devices are operational. You will also ensure that all work complies with current codes and regulations.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need field installation experience in security environments, preferably in Fire Alarm / Intrusion / Burg Technician roles. NICET certification is a plus, and you must hold a valid state Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology. Familiarity with multiple Intrusion/Access system manufacturers is an advantage. You will need to be available to travel for weeks at a time and have a strong ability to read blueprints and site maps. The estimated salary for this role is approximately $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
