HVAC Service Chiller Mechanic Job Description
• *Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Service Chiller Mechanic to join our team at Havtech LLC. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining air and water-cooled chillers, as well as cooling towers and associated systems. Your expertise will ensure the optimal performance and efficiency of our clients' HVAC systems.
• *Key Responsibilities:*
• Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of chiller systems Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers Troubleshoot and repair chillers of all types, including hermetic, scroll, centrifugal, etc. Repair components and perform complex modifications of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work, as necessary Maintain equipment by inspecting for signs of wear and notifying customer and/or Project Manager of findings Legibly document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files
• Requirements:
• Associate's Degree or equivalent from a Technical / Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and eight (8) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Must possess computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software Valid Driver's License. Clean driving record EPA Certification HVAC Journeyman license in MD and/or Virginia required HVAC Journeyman license in Washington DC required Additional license; Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc. preferred Applicant must be a current member or be able to successfully join UA Local 602
• Compensation:*
The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000-$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
• Work Environment:**
As a HVAC Service Chiller Mechanic, you will work primarily outdoors, installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. You may also work in an office environment, performing administrative tasks and communicating with customers and colleagues. The physical demands of this role include regular standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 pounds, with occasional sitting and kneeling.
