Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team in the southeastern United States. This position requires expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems, including those over 25 tons.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both commercial and industrial HVAC systems, with extensive experience working on large equipment, including chillers, boilers, and refrigeration units. The role involves handling physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, standing for long periods, and working in confined spaces.
The estimated annual salary for this position is around $75,000 - $90,000 based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, and large tonnage equipment.
• Service and repair hot water, steam, and chilled water systems.
• Work with water source or 'applied equipment' to ensure efficient operation.
• Handle VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems, ensuring proper installation and operation.
• Perform refrigeration work, including the maintenance and repair of walk-in coolers, freezers, and ice machines.
• Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC equipment over 25 tons.
• Manage and maintain HVAC controls to optimize system performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and HVAC codes.
• Work independently or as part of a team to diagnose and solve technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
• Proven experience with large tonnage equipment (over 25 tons).
• Hands-on experience with chillers, boilers, and refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with VRF systems, chilled water systems, and hot water/steam systems.
• Strong understanding of water source or applied equipment.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in coolers/freezers, and ice machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
• EPA Certification and relevant state HVAC licenses.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
