As a FLS System Technician I (Fire Alarms) at the University of Texas, you will provide journey-level work associated with fire-life-safety equipment, systems, and/or their components. Your responsibilities will include performing routine and preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems, inspecting these systems, and assisting with fire sprinkler inspections when required. You will also perform repairs, replacements, upgrades, and remodels of fire alarm systems, as well as assist with new fire alarm system commissioning. Additionally, you will provide timely and courteous customer service, keep supervisors and team members updated on daily work order status, and assist other shops and team members in achieving shop goals related to key performance indicators. To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong leadership skills, be able to train others within the shop, and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively. You will also need to stay up-to-date on all code changes, testing procedures, and product knowledge.
